The New DOT 360 Assessments Give Leaders The Feedback And Tools To Improve
Leaders gain deeper insight into WHAT, WHY, and HOW to improve with feedback from their supervisor, direct reports, and peers. The DOT 360 helps those in the leader’s work circle rate the leader’s proficiency in the Executive Core Qualification skills or ECQs. The ECQs are defined by the Office of Personnel Management and the questions in the survey have been developed by the Department of Transportation to identify how the ECQs apply to the Department of Transportation.
The results identify a leader’s:
Strengths- skills which others identify as strengths for the leader
Weaknesses- trouble areas that need development
Blindspots- skills the leader ranked as strengths, while others ranked as needing development
Hidden Strengths- skills that others ranked as much stronger than the leader did
The 360 report makes it easy to understand the feedback, increases the leader’s self-awareness, motivates improvement, and identifies clear next steps. The step-by-step development guide helps leaders create clear action plans to improve their skills.

Two versions of the assessment are available: the Executive Leader 360 Assessment and Supervisor 360 Assessment. Both versions were developed in close collaboration with DOT senior leadership, and reflect DOT’s unique culture, terminology, and curriculum requirements.
